Angola: Inflation slows in December from November
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 15.7% on a year-on-year basis in December, following a 16.6% increase in the previous month. December’s reading was the weakest since September 2023.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and beverages (+16.1% on a year-on-year basis vs +16.9% in November), transport (+19.2% vs +19.8% in November), housing, water, electricity and fuel (+17.0% vs +17.2% in November), health (+17.4% vs +19.0% in November) and clothing (+14.3% vs +15.7% in November).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.95% in December on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.85% rise in the prior month.
