Aluminium prices averaged USD 3,161 per metric ton in July, down 8.1% from June. On 31 July, the commodity traded at USD 3,217 per metric ton, up 4.8% from 30 June.
In July, average aluminium prices fell for the second straight month and posted the worst performance among base metals. That said, July’s dramatic fall was due to record-high prices at the start of June. Aluminum prices actually hovered around pre-war levels and trended up during July as tensions between the U.S. and Iran resumed, raising fears of further supply disruptions.
