Cobalt prices averaged USD 55,854 per metric ton in May, unchanged from April. On 29 May, the commodity traded at USD 55,858 per metric ton, unchanged from 30 April.

In May, average cobalt prices were little changed from March and April levels, well above the 10-year average, supported by supply constraints after the DRC—which produces over 70% of global output—imposed an export ban in February 2025 and introduced export quotas in October 2025.
