Cobalt prices averaged USD 55,849 per metric ton in March, unchanged from February. On 31 March, the commodity traded at USD 55,851 per metric ton, unchanged from 27 February.

Average cobalt prices held steady in March from the previous month. Even so, the battery metal continued to trade well above its past-decade average after the DRC—the source of more than 70% of global supply—imposed an export ban in February 2025 before introducing export quotas from October, tightening global supply.
