Coffee prices averaged USD 320 cents per pound in March, up 3.7% from February. On 31 March, the commodity traded at USD 313 cents per pound, up 2.7% from 27 February.
In March, arabica coffee prices rose for the first time in four months. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the Iran war disrupted global logistics, driving up shipping, insurance and fuel prices; increased costs led to higher coffee prices for importers and roasters, compounded by unusually dry weather in Brazil.
