Argentina: Manufacturing production contracts faster in November
Latest reading: Manufacturing production was down 8.7% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 2.8% fall in the prior month. November’s reading was the weakest since June 2024.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in November softened for machinery and equipment (-17.9% on a year-on-year basis vs -2.1% in October), basic metals (-3.1% vs +0.9% in October), chemical products (-3.4% vs -0.4% in October), automotive vehicles (-23.0% vs -4.2% in October) and food and beverages (-7.8% vs -1.3% in October).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, manufacturing production was down 0.6% in November, following a 0.9% fall in the prior month.
