Australia: Unemployment rate dips in November
Latest reading: The seasonally adjusted jobless rate came in at 4.3% in November 2025, holding steady from October and coming in slightly below the expected 4.4%. The total pool of unemployed individuals edged lower to its weakest level in three months, easing from the previous month. Within this group, those searching for part-time work declined noticeably, while the number of people seeking full-time positions rose over the same period.
At the same time, overall employment fell unexpectedly by 21,300 to 14.66 million, falling short of projections that had pointed to a 20,000 increase and reversing a downwardly revised gain of 41,200 recorded in October. Full-time employment dropped whereas part-time employment climbed.
