Austria: Inflation stabilizes in November from October
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 4.0% on a year-on-year basis in November, unchanged from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, price pressures were higher for recreation in November (+2.9% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.7% in October). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.4% vs +3.9% in October) and restaurants and hotels (+5.3% vs +5.4% in October). Finally, the changes in housing and utilities and transportation were the same as in the prior month (+8.8% and +2.8%, respectively).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 4.0% in annual terms in November, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.21% in November in month-on-month terms, following a 0.50% rise in the prior month.
