Belarus: Industrial production contracts faster in October
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 1.3% in annual terms in October, following a 0.8% fall in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in October worsened for manufacturing (-2.0% on a year-on-year basis vs -1.4% in September) and mining and quarrying (+2.7% vs +2.9% in September). In contrast, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply improved in October (+2.8% vs +2.6% in September). Finally, the variation in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities was the same as in the prior month (-0.1% in October and September).
