Belarus: Inflation eases in October from September
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 6.9% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 7.1% increase in the previous month, marking a six-month low.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were milder price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+9.7% on a year-on-year basis vs +10.1% in September), transportation (+4.7% vs +5.2% in September) and clothing (+1.6% vs +2.5% in September). In contrast, price pressures were higher for food and non-alcoholic beverages in October (+10.0% vs +9.9% in September).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.30% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.50% increase in the previous month.
