Bulgaria: Economic sentiment remains above threshold in December
Latest reading: Economic sentiment declined to 100.5 in December, following November’s 101.5. December’s reading was the lowest since October 2022. Still, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In December, sentiment worsened in the construction sector (+0.5 vs +2.2 in November), the services sector (+7.4 vs +10.3 in November), the retail sector (+13.9 vs +15.6 in November) and among consumers (-26.8 vs -23.5 in November). On the flipside, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (+1.1 vs -1.0 in November).
