Costa Rica: Economic activity accelerates in October
Latest reading: Economic activity rose 4.7% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 4.2% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in October improved for manufacturing (+10.4% in annual terms vs +7.0% in September), the construction sector (-2.5% vs -3.6% in September) and domestic trade (+3.1% vs +2.7% in September). In contrast, readings worsened for agriculture, forestry and fishing (-4.5% vs -0.6% in September) and information and communication (+4.5% vs +5.5% in September).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, economic activity was up 1.6% in October, following a 2.3% decline in the prior month.
