France: Industrial production decelerates in October
Latest reading: Industrial production—excluding construction—increased 0.2% in a calendar- and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in October, following a 0.7% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, the reading for manufacturing worsened in October (-0.1% in calendar- and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +0.9% in September). In contrast, readings picked up for mining and quarrying (+1.7% vs -3.2% in September) and energy (+1.7% vs +0.3% in September).
On a working-day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production increased 1.7% in October, following a 1.3% increase in the prior month.
