Hong Kong: Inflation stabilizes in November from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 1.2% in annual terms in November, unchanged from the previous month’s reading.
Price increases accelerated in food (1.1% compared with 0.9% in October) and transport (3.5% versus 3.1%), while the contraction in clothing and footwear prices moderated (-4.1% compared with -4.7%). These effects were partly offset by slower growth in miscellaneous services prices (1.9% versus 2.0%) and a larger decline in electricity, gas, and water prices (-0.5% compared with -0.3%).
Lastly, consumer prices were stable in November in month-on-month terms, following a 0.27% increase in the prior month.
