Hong Kong: Inflation moderates in May
Latest reading: Inflation fell to 1.9% in May from April’s 2.0%, due to weaker price pressures for food, transport and clothing.
The trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.8% in May (April: 1.7%).
Finally, consumer prices fell a seasonally adjusted 0.28% in May over the previous month, which was below the 0.09% fall recorded in April. May’s result marked the weakest reading since April 2024.
