Indonesia: Retail sales accelerate in November
Latest reading: Retail sales rose 5.9% in annual terms in November, following a 4.3% rise in the previous month. November’s reading was the strongest since March 2024.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in November improved for food, beverages, and tobacco (+8.2% on a year-on-year basis vs +6.4% in October), motor vehicles, parts and accessories (+15.4% vs +12.0% in October) and cultural and recreation goods (+12.8% vs +6.7% in October). In contrast, readings softened for automotive fuels (-1.5% vs -1.0% in October) and information and communication equipment (-33.9% vs -28.3% in October).
