Indonesia: Merchandise trade surplus narrows in November
Latest reading: In November, the trade balance was USD +3.3 billion, following a USD +3.6 billion reading in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +49.6 billion. This marked the smallest surplus since April 2025.
Exports declined 5.5% in annual terms in November, coming on the back of a 0.8% decline in the previous month. November’s reading was the weakest since February 2024. Imports rose 0.5% in year-on-year terms in November, following a 1.6% decline in the previous month.
