Kazakhstan: Inflation eases in October from September
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 12.6% in annual terms in October, following a 12.9% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+13.6% in annual terms vs +12.8% in September), transportation (+12.2% vs +11.3% in September), health (+18.1% vs +17.0% in September) and restaurants and hotels (+15.7% vs +14.0% in September). In contrast, price pressures reduced for housing and utilities in October (+11.3% vs +17.4% in September).
Lastly, consumer prices were up 0.55% in October in month-on-month terms, following a 1.12% rise in the prior month.
