Kuwait: Kuwait crude output increases in December
Latest reading: Kuwait oil output rose to 2.58 mbpd (million barrels per day) in December from 2.57 mbpd in November. The December figure was the highest since the end of 2023, buoyed by OPEC+ quota hikes. Oil production rose 6.6% year on year in December, the seventh consecutive month of growth following over two years of contractions.
Outlook: Oil production could plateau in Q1 2026 due to the pause to OPEC+ quota hikes. That said, oil output in Q1 will still be significantly higher year on year.
