Lithuania: Industrial output growth eases in May
Latest reading: Industrial output increased 1.9% compared to the same month of the previous year in May, which followed April’s 2.5% increase. May’s figure marked the worst reading since June 2024 and was partly due to weaker manufacturing production growth, which expanded at the slowest pace since June 2024. In addition, mining and quarrying production deteriorated.
On a monthly basis, factory output rose 1.7% in seasonally adjusted terms in May, rebounding from April’s 3.1% fall. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 5.0% in May (April: +5.7%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
