Lithuania: Inflation slows in December from November
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 3.2% on a year-on-year basis in December, following a 3.6% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.2% in annual terms vs +4.5% in November), transportation (+0.3% vs +2.0% in November), housing and utilities (+1.5% vs +2.2% in November) and recreation (+3.8% vs +4.1% in November). Finally, the variation in restaurants and hotels prices was the same as in the prior month (+6.2% in December and November).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 3.4% in annual terms in December, following a 3.8% increase in the prior month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.18% in December in month-on-month terms, following a 0.38% increase in the previous month.
