Luxembourg: Inflation eases in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 3.0% in annual terms in October, following a 3.1% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+2.4% in annual terms vs +2.6% in September), transportation (+1.0% vs +2.3% in September) and restaurants and hotels (+2.4% vs +2.6% in September). In contrast, there were more notable price pressures for housing and utilities (+6.5% vs +6.2% in September) and recreation (+4.3% vs +3.5% in September).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 2.7% on a year-on-year basis in October, stable from the prior month’s reading.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.14% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.13% decline in the previous month.
