Malaysia: Industrial production loses momentum in November
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 4.3% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 6.0% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in November worsened for manufacturing (+4.9% in annual terms vs +6.5% in October) and mining and quarrying (+2.3% vs +5.8% in October). In contrast, the reading for electricity and gas improved in November (+2.7% vs +1.8% in October).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production was down 1.3% in November, following a 0.7% increase in the previous month.
