Netherlands: Inflation eases from prior month in November
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 2.6% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 3.0% rise in the previous month. Still, November’s reading was above the euro area average of 2.1% and the ECB’s 2.0% target.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.3% in October), transportation (+1.8% vs +3.9% in October), housing and utilities (+3.6% vs +3.9% in October), recreation (+2.7% vs +3.2% in October) and restaurants and hotels (+4.2% vs +4.5% in October).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 2.9% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 3.1% rise in the previous month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 1.38% in November on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.60% rise in the prior month.
