Panama: Consumer prices edge down on a monthly basis in October
Latest reading: Consumer prices fell 0.02% on a month-on-month basis in October, following September’s 0.04% fall.
The National Institute of Statistics and Census of Panama rebased its consumer price index in October. The index now features 2024 as the base year, a new basket of goods and services, and new weights and broader coverage. Because this new index is not comparable with the old one, and previous historical data has not been updated under the new methodology yet, year-on-year inflation data will be temporarily unavailable.
