Portugal: Industrial production shrinks in November
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 3.0% in calendar- and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in November, following 0.8% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in November worsened for manufacturing (-4.0% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +2.7% in October) and mining and quarrying (-14.0% vs +2.2% in October). In contrast, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply improved in November (+6.8% vs -11.2% in October).
On a working day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production increased 0.3% in November, following a 0.4% fall in the previous month.
