Slovenia: Inflation accelerates in December from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 2.6% on a year-on-year basis in December, following a 2.3% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+4.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.2% in November) and recreation (+2.3% vs +1.3% in November). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.7% vs +5.1% in November), transportation (-1.4% vs -1.1% in November) and restaurants and hotels (+4.1% vs +4.2% in November).
Meanwhile, consumer prices were up 2.7% in December, following a 2.3% increase in the previous month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.10% in December in month-on-month terms, following a flat reading in the previous month.
