Spain: Inflation rises in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 3.2% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 3.0% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+2.7% in annual terms vs +2.4% in September), housing and utilities (+7.5% vs +7.0% in September) and restaurants and hotels (+4.5% vs +4.4% in September). In contrast, price pressures reduced for recreation in October (+0.4% vs +0.9% in September). Finally, the variation in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices was the same as in the prior month (+2.4% in October and September).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.1% in October, following a 3.0% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.53% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.23% rise in the previous month.
