Spain: Retail sales recover in November
Latest reading: Retail sales increased 1.0% in working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in November, following a flat reading in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in November improved for large chain stores (+2.8% on a working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -0.8% in October) and small chain stores (+1.6% vs -0.9% in October). In contrast, the reading for single retail stores worsened in November (-0.3% vs -0.2% in October).
In annual terms, retail sales were up 6.0% in November, following a 3.9% rise in the previous month.
