Sweden: Inflation slows in November from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) rose 2.3% in annual terms in November, following a 3.1% increase in the prior month. November’s reading was the weakest since January 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were milder price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-3.1% on a year-on-year basis vs -1.9% in October) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.1% vs +3.7% in October). In contrast, price pressures were higher for transportation in November (0.0% vs -0.7% in October).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices—which exclude energy costs as well as the effect of interest-rate changes—were up 2.4% in annual terms in November, following a 2.8% rise in the prior month.
Finally, consumer prices with a fixed interest rate declined 0.25% in November on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.37% rise in the prior month.
