Thailand: Manufacturing production recovers in December
Latest reading: Manufacturing production increased 2.5% in annual terms in December, following a 3.9% fall in the prior month. December’s reading was the strongest since April 2024.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in December improved for food products (+2.2% in annual terms vs -1.7% in November), automotive vehicles (+5.3% vs +1.9% in November), chemical products (+2.9% vs -1.4% in November), computer and electronic products (+7.0% vs +2.8% in November) and refined petroleum products (+0.6% vs -14.1% in November).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, manufacturing output increased 2.3% in December, following a 1.7% drop in the prior month.
