Thailand: Manufacturing growth stabilizes in April
Latest reading: Manufacturing output rose 2.2% in year-on-year terms in April, unchanged from March’s uptick and remaining at the joint-highest level in a year. The figure came on the back of stronger growth in food products output and a rebound in automotive vehicles production. Moreover, refined petroleum products contracted at a softer rate, while computer and electronic products decelerated.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, manufacturing production rose at a quicker rate of 2.9% in April (March: +1.7% mom s.a.), the best result since May 2023. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of manufacturing production coming in at minus 1.1% in April, down from March’s minus 1.0% reading.
