Industrial production falls at a faster pace in February
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 3.7% on a year-on-year basis in February, following a 3.4% fall in the previous month. February's reading was the weakest since January 2023. Relative to the prior month's figures, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply softened in February (+12.4% in annual terms vs +17.5% in January). In contrast, readings picked up for manufacturing (-7.0% vs -7.5% in January), mining and quarrying (+1.3% vs -1.3% in January) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (-2.1% vs -2.9% in January).
