Industrial production speeds up in October
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 7.1% in annual terms in October, following a 5.2% increase in the prior month. Relative to the prior month's figures, readings in October improved for mining and quarrying (+12.5% on a year-on-year basis vs +6.8% in September), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+3.2% vs +3.0% in September) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (-3.8% vs -10.6% in September). In contrast, the reading for manufacturing worsened in October (+2.2% vs +4.1% in September).
