Industrial production falls in November
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 4.5% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 3.7% fall in the previous month. November’s reading was the ninth contraction in 11 months. Relative to the prior month's figures, readings in November deteriorated for manufacturing (-2.5% in annual terms vs -2.3% in October), mining and quarrying (-6.0% vs -3.9% in October) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-18.8% vs -15.5% in October). In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production increased 0.9% in November, following a 2.5% fall in the previous month.
