Consumer prices flatline in November

Latest reading: Consumer prices were stable in annual terms in November, following a 0.1% rise in the prior month and below market expectations. Relative to the previous month's figures, there were milder price pressures for housing and energy (+0.5% in annual terms vs +0.8% in October) and restaurants and hotels (+0.7% vs +1.3% in October). In contrast, price pressures were higher for food and non-alcoholic beverages in November (-0.4% vs -0.5% in October). Finally, the variation in transportation prices was the same as in the prior month (-1.7% in November and October). Meanwhile, core consumer prices increased 0.4% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 0.5% increase in the prior month. Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.21% in November on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.25% fall in the prior month.
