Unemployment in Turkey
Turkey's unemployment rate over the last decade was generally in double digits amid strong growth in the size of the labor force. The COVID-19 pandemic further impacted job markets. While the rate has fallen post pandemic, unemployment remains a concern, particularly among youth and in the face of persistent inflation and currency depreciation.
In the year 2024, the unemployment in Turkey was 8.72%, compared to 9.89% in 2014 and 9.39% in 2023. It averaged 10.95% over the last decade. For more unemployment information, visit our dedicated page.
