Angola: Inflation fall in February from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 13.4% on a year-on-year basis in February, following a 14.6% rise in the prior month. February’s reading was the weakest since July 2023.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and beverages (+13.6% on a year-on-year basis vs +14.9% in January), transport (+18.7% vs +19.1% in January), housing, water, electricity and fuel (+16.1% vs +16.6% in January), health (+14.2% vs +15.9% in January) and clothing (+11.6% vs +13.0% in January).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.52% in February in month-on-month terms, following a 0.68% rise in the prior month.
