Argentina: Economic activity loses momentum in October
Latest reading: Economic activity increased 3.2% in annual terms in October, following a 4.8% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in October worsened for manufacturing (-2.7% in annual terms vs -1.0% in September), transport and communications (+2.4% vs +2.6% in September) and hotels and restaurants (-1.0% vs +7.0% in September). In contrast, readings improved for agriculture (+2.7% vs +1.0% in September) and construction (+5.7% vs +2.6% in September).
In month-on-month terms, economic activity was down 0.4% in October, following a 0.6% increase in the previous month.
