Argentina: Industrial production shrinks more quickly in October
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 2.9% in annual terms in October, following a 0.5% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in October softened for machinery and equipment (-2.2% in annual terms vs +4.2% in September), chemical products (-0.4% vs +2.2% in September), automotive vehicles (-4.1% vs -2.0% in September) and food and beverages (-1.7% vs +1.2% in September). In contrast, the reading for basic metals improved in October (+0.9% vs -0.9% in September).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production declined 0.8% in October, following a 0.2% decline in the previous month.
