Argentina: Manufacturing production shrinks more quickly in February
Latest reading: Manufacturing production was down 8.7% in annual terms in February, following a 3.3% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in February softened for machinery and equipment (-29.4% in annual terms vs -20.2% in January), basic metals (-12.5% vs +0.2% in January), chemical products (+3.7% vs +7.2% in January) and food and beverages (-6.9% vs -0.7% in January). In contrast, the reading for automotive vehicles improved in February (-24.6% vs -25.7% in January).
