Austria: Industrial production shrinks more quickly in December
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 2.4% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in December, following a 0.8% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in December worsened for non-durable consumer goods (+0.6% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +1.5% in November) and intermediate goods (-0.9% vs +0.3% in November). In contrast, readings improved for durable consumer goods (+14.7% vs -0.8% in November) and capital goods (+0.4% vs -3.4% in November).
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production was down 3.3% in December, following a 0.1% fall in the prior month.
