Austria: Industrial production slows in January
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.6% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in January, following 1.1% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in January softened for durable consumer goods (-14.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +21.9% in December) and capital goods (-1.2% vs +7.9% in December). In contrast, readings improved for non-durable consumer goods (+0.9% vs -0.5% in December) and intermediate goods (+0.1% vs -0.1% in December).
In annual terms, industrial production increased 0.3% in January, following 1.1% growth in the prior month.
