Austria: Industrial production shrinks more slowly in September
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 0.9% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in September, following a 2.7% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in September improved for non-durable consumer goods (+4.1% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -20.3% in August) and intermediate goods (+1.3% vs +0.4% in August). In contrast, readings worsened for durable consumer goods (-9.8% vs +8.4% in August) and capital goods (-3.0% vs -1.4% in August).
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production fell 1.7% in September, following a 0.8% increase in the previous month.
