Austria: Industrial output rebounds in March
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 0.9% month-on-month in seasonally adjusted terms in March (February: -1.7% mom s.a.). Looking at the details of the release, capital goods output contracted at a milder rate. That said, non-durable consumer goods output rose at a softer pace and durable consumer goods output declined.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose 1.4% in March, which was better than February’s 0.5% expansion. Moreover, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 2.5%, up from February’s minus 3.1% reading.
