Belgium: Economic sentiment drops in October
Latest reading: Economic sentiment dropped to 95.4 in October, following September’s 96.2. Consequently, the index fell further below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In October, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-12.6 vs -11.0 in September), the construction sector (-8.9 vs -8.6 in September), the retail sector (-16.0 vs -6.7 in September) and among consumers (-12.9 vs -9.6 in September). On the flipside, sentiment improved in the services sector (+7.7 vs -2.1 in September).
