Belgium: Industrial production falls at a faster pace in October
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 3.4% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in October, following a 0.4% decrease in the prior month, marking the steepest contraction since May.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in October worsened for manufacturing (-2.8% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -1.9% in September) and energy (-6.6% vs +2.6% in September). In contrast, the reading improved for mining and quarrying (+0.9% vs +0.1% in September).
On a calendar-adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production rose 0.2% in October, following a 2.2% increase in the prior month.
