Belgium: Industrial production shrinks more slowly in September
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 0.8% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in September, following a 1.4% decrease in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, the reading for manufacturing improved in September (-1.2% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -2.2% in August). In contrast, readings worsened for energy (+2.6% vs +8.4% in August) and mining and quarrying (+0.6% vs +1.4% in August).
On a calendar-adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production rose 1.9% in September, following a 1.3% increase in the prior month.
