Belgium: Industrial output growth gains momentum in March
Latest reading: Industrial output rose 1.7% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in March, which was above February’s 1.4% increase. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing output accelerated in March, while energy plus mining and quarrying output swung to contraction.
On an annual basis, industrial output fell 2.2% in March, which was below February’s 1.5% fall. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.4% in March, up from February’s minus 1.9% reading.
