Belgium: Inflation is unchanged in February
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 1.4% in annual terms in February, unchanged from the prior month’s reading.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.6% in annual terms vs +0.5% in January), transportation (+1.5% vs +0.3% in January), housing and utilities (-1.0% vs -1.6% in January) and restaurants and hotels (+4.1% vs +3.7% in January). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for recreation (+2.1% vs +2.6% in January).
Meanwhile, consumer prices were up 1.4% in annual terms in February, following a 1.1% rise in the prior month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 2.47% in February in month-on-month terms, following a 1.58% fall in the previous month.
