Bulgaria: Inflation eases in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 5.3% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 5.6% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, price pressures eased for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels in October (+7.7% in annual terms vs +8.7% in September). In contrast, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.4% vs +6.2% in September) and transportation (+0.5% vs +0.4% in September).
Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices rose 3.8% in annual terms in October, following a 4.1% rise in the previous month.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.88% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.79% decline in the previous month.
